Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Full Park Exploration & Lake Circuit
Depart Kigali for Akagera National Park. Spend the full day exploring the park by vehicle, discovering its savannahs, lakes, and rolling hills. Drive along the Lake Circuit or other park areas of your choice for birdwatching, wildlife spotting, and photography. Overnight at a lodge inside or near the park.
Day 2: Mountain Circuit Game Drive & Night Safari
Embark on a morning game drive along the Mountain Circuit, searching for lions, elephants, rhinos, and other iconic wildlife. In the evening, enjoy a thrilling night game drive to observe nocturnal animals in their natural habitat. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Boat Safari, Behind-the-Scenes & Community Immersion
Begin the day with a tranquil boat trip on Lake Ihema, exploring aquatic life and bird colonies. In the afternoon, engage with local communities — experience traditional blacksmithing, local milking, agriculture, and cultural village life. Optional activities include hiking, biking, nature walks, and interactive exchanges with community members based on your preferences.
